Camp Takes Place May 12-15 in Blaine, Minnesota

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – USA Hockey announced today that it will conduct its second annual U.S. Women's National Team Goaltending Development Camp from May 12-15, 2016 at Schwan's Super Center in Blaine, Minnesota.

Robb Stauber (Long Lake, Minn.), goaltending coach for the U.S. Women's National Team, is the head instructor and will be assisted by goaltending coaches Manon Rheaume (Northville, Mich.) and Steve Guider (Blaine, Minn.).

The camp consists of 18 of the top female goaltenders who are eligible for international play, including Alex Rigbsy (Delafield, Wis.) who backstopped the U.S. to gold at the 2016 International Ice Hockey Federation Women's World Championship, and Alex Gulstene(Evanston, Ill.) who lead Team USA to gold at the 2016 IIHF Under-18 Women's World Championship.

The players range in age from 15-24 and represent 14 different states. Minnesota leads the pack with four representatives, followed by Illinois with two and one from California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Massachusetts, North Carolina, North Dakota, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Rhode Island and Wisconsin. Six players spent the 2015-16 season in college, 10 were in high school and two have graduated college.

Camp Roster & Schedule

A female-specific camp showcases the growth of women's hockey and is the natural evolution of the program, allowing more goaltenders to participate and introducing a curriculum that is specific to the women's game. Prior to the 2015 camp, female goalies conducted their summer training with the top male goalies as part of USA Hockey's Warren Strelow National Team Goaltending Camp.

NOTES: Reagan Carey (Colorado Springs, Colo.), USA Hockey's director of women's hockey, is leading the camp ... Other members of the camp staff include head scout Matt Kelly (Hope, R.I.), strength and conditioning coach Mike Vaughan (Lowell, Mass.), athletic trainer Carrie Gaydos (Newington, Conn.), video coordinator Nick Laurila (Carol Stream, Ill.) and equipment manager Brent Proulx (St. Paul, Minn.).
