USA Hockey Arena Capital Campaign

The Front Porch of USA Hockey

The USA Hockey Foundation is embarking on a three-year, $5 million Capital Campaign for USA Hockey Arena to maintain and upgrade facilities to provide a world class training and education facility for our athletes and USA Hockey athletes at all levels.

Critical Needs

USA Hockey Arena is nearly 30 years old. Its ice plants are near the end of their lifespan and must be replaced in order to maintain our ice surfaces.

USA Hockey Arena is home to the National Team Development Program as well as visiting national teams, national championships events, tournaments, local club and high school teams, and every discipline on hockey.

These critical improvements are required to ensure that the “front porch” can continue to support the excellence of American hockey.

As part of the USA Hockey Arena Capital Campaign, $2.5 million has been directed to name the main rink after the late Jim Johannson, a true visionary who championed the concept of utilizing USA Hockey Arena as a welcoming front porch for USA Hockey.

Johannson passed away unexpectedly at the age of 53, just a month before he was slated to serve as general manager of the 2018 U.S. Olympic Men's Ice Hockey Team.
